Switch to an Instagram professional account
Postbooster works with Instagram Business and Creator accounts — that’s what Meta’s official API allows. Switching from a personal account is free and takes about a minute in the Instagram app.

Six taps from personal to professional
Instagram renames these menus now and then. If a label differs, search Settings for “professional”.

Open your profile
In the Instagram app, tap your profile picture in the bottom right.

Open the menu
Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top right, then Settings and activity if it asks.

Find “Account type and tools”
Scroll to the section for creators and businesses. It is called “Account type and tools” in most versions.

Tap “Switch to professional account”
Instagram explains what professional accounts get. Tap Continue through the introduction.

Pick a category
Choose what describes you best — Real estate agent, Tattoo parlor, Musician, Shopping & retail… You can hide it from your profile.

Professional accounts are always public on Instagram. A private account becomes public when you switch.

Your Instagram account is your Postbooster login — there’s no separate password to create. On Instagram’s screen, keep every permission switched on: Postbooster needs to read your posts, reply to comments and send DMs to people who commented.

Does switching cost anything?
No. Professional accounts are free. Instagram doesn’t charge for switching, and neither does Postbooster.
Do I lose my followers, posts or messages?
No. Your handle, followers, posts, stories and DMs all stay exactly as they are. You gain an extra dashboard in the Instagram app.
Can my professional account be private?
No. Instagram only allows professional accounts to be public, so switching makes a private account public. If your account needs to stay private, Postbooster can’t connect to it.
Do I need a Facebook Page?
No. Postbooster uses Business Login for Instagram, which connects directly to your Instagram professional account. No Facebook Page, no Meta Business Suite setup.
Can I switch back to a personal account?
Yes, any time, from the same “Account type and tools” menu. Postbooster stops working for that account while it is personal.
Is there a separate Postbooster password?
No. You sign in with “Continue with Instagram”. Your Instagram account is your login, and Postbooster never sees your Instagram password.
